International coach Elias Diab, certified by the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC), passed away due to a terminal illness. The Arab climbing federations and the Lebanese Federation for Climbing and Mountain Sports extended their heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to the family, friends, and all loved ones of the deceased during this difficult time. They added in a statement: "Elias Diab left his mark in Lebanon and the Arab countries, where he worked tirelessly to develop the sport of climbing, prepare teams and national selections, and train them for participation in regional and international championships." They affirmed that "with Diab's passing, the sport of climbing has lost one of its most prominent pioneers who was a role model and promised many achievements, especially in encouraging youth and training them to practice climbing." They concluded by emphasizing that "his memory will remain in our hearts, and his message will continue to motivate us to keep working to develop the sport he loved and dedicated himself to in Lebanon and the Arab world."
