The Lebanese Kataeb Party believes that "Lebanon is completely under the control of an armed militia that has seized its decision-making, taken over its institutions, manipulates it by force, and paralyzes it through coercion. It has isolated the country from the world and put it in conflict with the United Nations, blocking all attempts at reform, rendering it a loose country within a failed state."
During a meeting of the Kataeb Political Bureau, chaired by party leader MP Samy Gemayel, the Bureau noted in a statement that "addressing crises in Lebanon has surpassed mere discussions for days here or external initiatives from there aimed at finding solutions for a presidential election they want pre-packaged. Traditional political remedies have become ineffective; rather, the situation requires a deep existential uprising to put an end to the coup led by Hezbollah and its political and security team to seize Lebanon and transform it into a country that does not resemble its people or its history."
The Kataeb Party urged "all forces and parties that reject this reality to avoid falling into the traps of the lethal routine and traditional tools that no longer work, and to confront the coup by all available peaceful means," emphasizing the necessity of internal unification and external awareness to restore the country and balance in political life.
They also welcomed "the international community's stand against the pressures exerted by Hezbollah through various channels in the halls of the United Nations to restrain the international forces operating in the south and prevent them from monitoring its suspicious activities," thanking member states "that pressured to uphold Resolution 1701, which stipulates that the Lebanese government shall extend its authority over all Lebanese territories in accordance with the provisions of Resolutions 1559 and 1680, which call for the disarmament of all armed groups in Lebanon."
