Blackmailing a Doctor in Najaf: Iraqi Intelligence Agency Takes Action

The Iraqi Intelligence Agency announced today, Wednesday, the arrest of a suspect for blackmailing a doctor in Najaf al-Ashraf. A statement mentioned that "the anti-terrorism intelligence units in Najaf al-Ashraf received a distress call from a citizen working as a doctor in one of the medical institutions in Najaf al-Ashraf, where her complaint involved a person blackmailing her and demanding an amount of 25 million Iraqi dinars."

The statement added, "An intelligence task force was immediately formed to investigate and gather information. After completing all judicial procedures, and with a carefully planned ambush, the suspect was apprehended in the act."

It clarified that "after interrogating the suspect, he explicitly confessed to blackmailing the doctor and demanding a financial sum of 25 million Iraqi dinars," noting that "his statements were recorded and he was referred to the relevant authorities in preparation for his trial to receive a fair punishment."
