Government authorities stated today, Tuesday, that "an explosion occurred near the Israeli embassy in New Delhi, and there were no injuries among the embassy staff." In a statement to Reuters, Israeli embassy spokesman Guy Nir confirmed that "around 5:20 PM (local time), an explosion occurred close to the embassy."
The Israeli Foreign Ministry noted that "Israeli authorities are cooperating with their Indian counterparts to investigate the cause of the explosion near the Israeli embassy in New Delhi.” They added that no embassy staff were injured as a result of this explosion.
In January 2021, a small bomb exploded near the Israeli embassy in New Delhi, without causing any injuries. An Israeli official at the time stated that "Israel is treating the explosion as a terrorist incident."
