Loud explosions were heard in areas under the control of Iranian-backed factions in Deir Ezzor countryside. Following this, columns of smoke were seen rising from locations housing weapon and ammunition depots of these factions in the Al-Ghabra area and at the Hamadan Airport area near Al-Bukamal in eastern Deir Ezzor. As of now, there are no confirmed reports regarding the nature of the explosions. According to sources from the Syrian Observatory, trucks loaded with weapons and ammunition belonging to the militias entered Syrian territory just before the explosions, leading to speculation that they may have been targeted. It is worth noting that since the beginning of the attacks by Iranian-backed groups on its bases during the war on Gaza, U.S. warplanes have conducted 9 airstrikes against Iranian faction sites, points, and vehicles in Deir Ezzor, resulting in the deaths of 17 military personnel and injuries to at least 10 others, in addition to the destruction or damage of weapons, ammunition, and vehicles.
