Controversial Dutch seismologist Frank Hoogerbeets renewed his warning on Saturday about a powerful earthquake that could reach a magnitude of 8.5 on the Richter scale, possibly occurring within the next few hours, followed by aftershocks that may reach 6 degrees between September 26 and 28. Hoogerbeets re-shared a warning from the geological agency ssgeos, which he is affiliated with, on X (formerly Twitter), stating: "The alignment of Mars, Mercury, and Jupiter on September 22 could lead to a strong tremor later on September 23 or 24." He tweeted on the platform, "There seems to be a lot of confusion and misinformation regarding my previous analyses and predictions. I will clarify this in my upcoming update, which should be available later this afternoon." In a prior response on the platform regarding the same topic, he noted that he did not predict a tsunami during the period from September 19 to 21. He placed the earthquake in Morocco in a historical context and discussed the general threat off the coast of Portugal. In the predictions section of the video, he mentioned areas in the Pacific but did not mention a tsunami.
