Minister of Public Works and Transport in the caretaker government, Ali Hamieh, wrote on the "X" platform: "Being present with the families from the first moment of the building collapse in the Chouifat desert, making phone calls and following up with all concerned parties to alleviate, as much as possible, the burden on the occupants and to reassure the residents in the area, are basic actions that are essential to confront such disasters affecting citizens. Notably, instructions have been given to remove the rubble and open the road in the area, under the supervision of the consultant appointed by the Mount Lebanon governorate."
