Today, Thursday, in the province of Tartus, western Syria, the prominent Syrian media figure and writer, Ameen Afeef Khouli, the father of star Qusai Khouli, was laid to rest. The Syrian Ministry of Information mourned Khouli in a statement, saying: "Our heartfelt condolences to our colleague artist Qusai Khouli on the death of his esteemed father, the media figure Ameen Khouli. May his memory be everlasting... Indeed, we belong to God and to Him, we shall return."
In turn, Qusai mourned his father with moving words through his Instagram account, writing: "Our leader has dismounted, our knight, our lord, and our beloved has dismounted, my father. Farewell, my master and teacher. Goodbye, Ameen, goodbye, Abu Qusai. Whoever believes in me, even if he dies, shall live."
The deceased held several positions during his career, most notably as the Deputy Chairman of the Journalists' Union in Syria, and as the editor-in-chief of the newspapers "Tishreen" and "Al-Thawra," as well as serving as the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of "Al-Baath" newspaper.
