The head of the "Free Patriotic Movement," MP Gebran Basil, stated via the "X" platform that "the Lebanese diaspora is Lebanon's second lung. Whenever I open lines of communication with the Lebanese communities in the diaspora countries, the oxygen in the body of the motherland increases, elevating its health and vitality." He regarded that "the mere thought of the caretaker government, which lacks legitimacy and is devoid of the constitutional spirit, closing embassies in Chile, Uruguay, Ecuador, Paraguay, Malaysia, and the consulate general in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is suffocating Lebanon and a crime against millions of Lebanese spread across these countries." Basil emphasized, "Those who do not understand the value of the Lebanese diaspora do not understand the meaning of Lebanon."
