The attorney for the artist Ziad Bourji announced that "the Public Prosecution in Beirut has filed charges against the artist Elissa under Article 582 of the Penal Code, for publicly defaming Ziad Bourji, and she has been referred for trial before the single criminal judge in Beirut." Ziad Bourji commented on the accusation saying: "It is our habit to share our artistic works and good news with people, but when we are subjected to public insult and injustice in front of our audience who respects us and our morals, not just our music, it is our duty to defend our dignity publicly. This is our response that I dedicate to everyone who loves me, to my family and friends, and most importantly to the best fans in the world."
