A local source in the Al-Zubair district, west of Basra province in southern Iraq, reported today, Friday, that a wanted individual committed suicide during an armed confrontation with security forces. The source stated that "citizens were injured during an armed attack in one of the areas of Al-Zubair while they were subjected to robbery by gang members." It was noted that "upon investigating the incident, the security forces identified the perpetrators, and during a raid on the home of one of the suspects, a shootout occurred, which ended with him committing suicide by shooting himself." The source added that "the security forces arrested the remaining perpetrators involved in the incident and confiscated the weapons in their possession."
