Lebanon Affected by a Low-Pressure System with Heavy Rain and Strong Winds

The Lebanese Meteorological Authority announced that "the eastern basin of the Mediterranean is affected by a low-pressure system centered southwest of Turkey, which is gradually approaching, leading to a significant drop in temperatures and bringing heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds reaching speeds of 90 km/h, especially in the northern part of the country on Friday. This effect will continue until Monday morning when the weather will gradually stabilize."

The authority warned of the intensification of wind speeds up to 90 km/h, the risk of loose advertising boards being blown away, and sea waves rising to about 4 meters, alongside heavy rainfall and the formation of floods from Friday morning until Saturday noon.

Expected Weather in Lebanon:

- **Thursday**: Partly cloudy to mostly cloudy at times with high clouds and a rise in temperatures above seasonal averages. Winds will strengthen at times starting in the afternoon, especially in the southern regions. - **Friday**: Cloudy with thick fog in the highlands, leading to occasional poor visibility. Temperatures will significantly drop, falling below seasonal averages, with sporadic heavy and intense rainfall sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms and hail, alongside the formation of floods on the roads starting in the afternoon. Snow will fall at 2000 meters during the day and drop to around 1800 meters at night.

- **Saturday**: Cloudy with thick fog in the highlands, occasionally worsening visibility. Temperatures will significantly decrease, falling below seasonal averages, with sporadic heavy and intense rainfall sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms and hail, alongside the formation of floods on the roads before noon, and sea waves rising to about 4 meters.
