Hamas mocked an Israeli leaflet distributed to residents in the Gaza Strip, which offered rewards for information that could help locate the movement's leaders. The Israeli leaflet claimed that "Hamas has lost its strength" and that its leaders "cannot even fry an egg." However, Hamas political bureau member Ezzat al-Rashq responded in a post on the movement's Telegram page, stating, "No time for frying eggs; our resistance fighters are busy grilling Merkavas."
The Israeli leaflet urged Gaza residents to provide information that would allow them to "capture those they describe as the individuals who brought destruction and devastation to the Gaza Strip." It included photos of Hamas leader in Gaza Yahya Sinwar, his younger brother Mohammed Sinwar, who the Israeli forces believe oversees Hamas operations in the Gaza Strip, as well as a photo of al-Qassam Brigades leader Raef Salameh, who is thought to be the commander of the Khan Younis Brigade, alongside a photo of al-Qassam military leader Mohammed Deif.
