Liverpool's Opponent Fined... and the Reason!

Liverpool's Opponent Fined... and the Reason!

The English Football Association announced on Wednesday that Nottingham Forest has been fined $95,000 for failing to control its players and coaching staff during their loss to Liverpool earlier this month in the Premier League. Nottingham Forest's coaching staff surrounded referee Paul Tierney after the match, which the team lost 1-0 on March 2, protesting his decisions. Forest believes that referee Tierney erred in not awarding them a free kick after play had restarted just minutes before the winning goal scored by Liverpool in the 99th minute. Ultimately, Stephen Reid, a member of the home team's coaching staff, received a red card. Referee Tierney halted the match after Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konaté was injured in the head while Nottingham was on the attack and their player Callum Hudson-Odoi was in possession of the ball.
