The son of Sudanese military leader Abdel Fattah al-Burhan has sustained serious injuries in a traffic accident in Turkey, according to local media reports. The Dogan news agency stated that Mohamed Abdel Fattah al-Burhan was riding his motorcycle in the Turkish capital Ankara on Thursday when he collided with a vehicle and fell to the ground a few meters from his motorcycle. He was transported to the hospital and admitted to the intensive care unit.
Since April 15, 2023, fighting between the army led by al-Burhan and the Rapid Support Forces led by Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, the former second-in-command of the military, has resulted in the deaths of thousands of Sudanese and the displacement of nearly 8 million others. The war has caused tens of thousands of fatalities, including 15,000 in a single city in West Darfur, according to United Nations experts.
