Ismail Haniya, head of the political bureau of Hamas, today urged Islamic countries to "support resistance with weapons" as the war with Israel continues in the Gaza Strip, according to AFP. In a speech at a conference of the Union of Muslim Scholars, he stated, "The role of the nation and its scholars is significant in supporting resistance. We see that countries around the world are supplying weapons to the occupation through air bridges and aircraft carriers, and it is time to support resistance with weapons, for this is the Battle of Al-Aqsa, not just the battle of the Palestinian people."
