Iraqi Forces Secure Border Points on Turkish Border

The Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced today, Thursday, that border guard forces have secured border points along the Iraqi-Turkish border. In a statement, the Ministry noted that "under the directive of the Minister of Interior and the supervision of the Commander of Border Forces to hold the entirety of the Iraqi borders with neighboring countries, in the far north of our proud Iraq and under the most extreme weather conditions and difficult terrain, a force from the First Border Brigade, under the command of the Commander of the First Border Region, managed to advance towards the zero border point and secure border points, raising the Iraqi flag over them on the Iraqi-Turkish border in Shildzi area within Al-Amadiyah District in Duhok Province, which were previously unguarded, with support from the Kurdistan Region's border forces." It emphasized that "watchtowers equipped with modern technologies will be constructed as part of the Ministry of Interior's efforts, represented by the Border Forces Command, to effectively secure the borders; to monitor suspicious activities and confront lawbreakers."
