Iraqi Interior Minister Abd al-Amir al-Shammari announced today, Sunday, the completion of a "concrete" wall along the Iraqi-Syrian border to prevent smuggling operations and combat the "ISIS" organization. The Iraqi Border Guards Command held a ceremony to celebrate the completion of the concrete wall on the border strip between the two countries to enhance border security in the al-Baghuz area. The Interior Minister praised the efforts of the Border Guards Command as the first line of defense for Iraq's borders. According to security sources, the establishment of this wall is part of a series of large security fortifications being undertaken by the Ministry of Interior to strengthen border security, which has contributed to controlling security along the Iraqi-Syrian border and preventing smuggling operations and combating "ISIS."
