French Navy: Our Current Capabilities in the Red Sea Are Sufficient

A senior commander of the French Navy stated today, Thursday, that "French capabilities in the Red Sea region are sufficient," adding that "French naval forces are accompanying ships carrying French interests sailing in areas targeted by the Houthi group in Yemen." He pointed out that "France is closely cooperating with the U.S.-led operation in the Red Sea, but its movements remain entirely under French command." The commander explained that "80 percent of maritime traffic still passes through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait between Yemen and Djibouti, thanks to international military efforts."
