Gallant: Hamas Leadership Abroad Has Lost Contact with Sinwar

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant revealed that "the Hamas leadership abroad is seeking a replacement for Sinwar after losing contact with him." Gallant claimed in a situation assessment regarding the southern command: "The Khan Younis brigade is disintegrating and is not functioning as a military entity in any way." He added, "Hamas remains with a margin in the central camps and with the Rafah brigade, and is in complete military collapse." He pointed out that "Hamas's station in Gaza is out of service," meaning that communication with them may have been cut off. In the context of negotiations for a ceasefire agreement and a prisoner exchange deal, Israeli Channel 12 previously reported that the head of Hamas in the Gaza Strip, Yahya Sinwar, is insisting on his demands during negotiations in Cairo, and there are no indications of reaching a compromise.
