Barcelona faced an initial setback with De Jong injuring his right ankle and leaving the pitch in the 25th minute, followed by Pedri, who hurt his right thigh without any contact with another player. Pedri exited the game in tears before halftime (44 minutes), adding to his history of injuries over the past two seasons. Xavi, who is already missing young international midfielder Gavi due to a serious injury, stated, "It's unfortunate due to the injury of important players. We will know more about the injuries between today and tomorrow, but they are concerning... The doctors have informed me that the injuries are serious."
