Drug Trafficking in Hayy al-Silm: Information Branch Intervenes!

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division issued the following statement today, Saturday: "As a result of the daily monitoring carried out by the specialized units of the Internal Security Forces to combat drug trafficking and promotion across various Lebanese regions, information was obtained by the Information Branch regarding an unidentified person promoting narcotics using a motorcycle in Hayy al-Silm - southern suburb.

Consequently, the specialized units in the branch initiated field and investigative procedures to uncover the suspect's identity and arrest him. As a result of extensive investigations and inquiries, his identity was determined to be H. A. (born in 1999, Lebanese). On January 17, 2024, after precise observation and monitoring, one of the branch patrols was able to arrest him red-handed while he was promoting drugs in Hayy al-Silm, on a motorcycle that was confiscated.

Upon searching him and the motorcycle, the following were seized: /45/ envelopes containing hashish, half a kilogram of hashish, /11/ plastic capsules containing cocaine, /11/ bags containing marijuana, a sum of money, and a mobile phone. During the investigation, he confessed to the charges of promoting drugs to several customers in Hayy al-Silm, using the motorcycle he was riding. Legal proceedings were carried out against him, and he, along with the seized items, was referred to the relevant authority, in accordance with the instructions."
