Netherlands: We Support Iraq's Fundamental Role in the Region

Dutch Foreign Minister Hanke Bruins Slot confirmed today, Tuesday, the Netherlands' support for Iraq's efforts in achieving stability in the region. During a joint press conference with Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, Bruins Slot noted that "the Dutch government is looking forward to Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani's visit to the Netherlands." She emphasized that "the Netherlands supports Iraq's efforts in achieving stability and security in the region, which were represented by the partnership and cooperation conference held in Baghdad to support and develop social and economic integration, as well as Iraq's role in strengthening relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran." She mentioned that they "discussed with the foreign minister regional developments and the recent attacks in Syria and Iraq, condemning these events. We also discussed the ongoing events in Gaza and the assistance provided by Iraq to Gaza," adding that "the Netherlands has provided 55 million euros in humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people."
