Al-Assad Receives Invitation from the King of Bahrain to Attend the Upcoming Arab Summit

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad received an official invitation today, Tuesday, from King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain to participate in the upcoming Arab Summit. Al-Assad met with the Ambassador of Bahrain to Damascus, Waheed Mubarak Sayyar, who delivered a message from the Bahraini monarch that included a formal invitation to attend the 33rd ordinary session of the Arab League Council at the summit level. The upcoming Arab Summit is scheduled to be held on May 16 in the Bahraini capital, Manama. Al-Assad participated in the Arab League Summit last year, held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, for the first time after an 11-year hiatus due to the suspension of Damascus's membership.
