Iraq: No Peace with the Presence of an Occupying Entity in the Heart of This Nation

On Wednesday, the First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, reiterated Iraq’s support for the Palestinian people and its opposition to the procrastination of the Arab cause. In a statement, Al-Mandalawi said: "On International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, we renew our call for urgent Arab and Islamic international action to stop the genocidal crimes committed by Israel against the Palestinian people, under the gaze and hearing of all major nations and humanitarian organizations. There can be no peace or lasting stability with an occupying foreign entity in the body of this nation that murders children, women, and the elderly and bombards hospitals, homes, schools, and civil institutions with brutality."

He added: "On this day, we emphasize Iraq's support for the Palestinian people and our stance against any policies that delay the primary Arab cause, which is the Palestinians' right to a safe and sovereign state over their entire territory." He noted that "the continuation of organized genocidal crimes will remain a stain on the conscience of humanity as a whole, and the worst of it is the complacency of only condemning and protesting without taking a firm stance on what is happening."

Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani had directed official institutions to commemorate the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian people. In a post on X, Al-Sudani stated: "On the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian people, we assert our support for this people's right to establish their state on all Palestinian land." He stressed the necessity of ending the arbitrary practices of the occupying authorities against unarmed civilians in Gaza and called on all countries of the world to end the suffering of Gaza, which has been caused by the recent aggression.
