The American newspaper "The Wall Street Journal" reported that Egyptian officials stated Cairo has "sent warnings to Israel that any ground operation in Rafah will lead to an immediate suspension of the peace treaty between the two countries." The Egyptian officials revealed that "an Egyptian delegation visited Tel Aviv on Friday to discuss the situation in Rafah," explaining that "Israeli officials are trying to convince Egypt to agree to some cooperation regarding the ground invasion, which Egypt does not accept." Several Arab and international countries have warned against a potential Israeli attack in Rafah, where around 1.5 million Palestinians have taken refuge due to the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, which has not yet achieved its declared goals, notably defeating Hamas and recovering Israeli captives.
