The cultural center of the Turkish community in Saint-Omer, France, condemned the discovery of a pig's head placed in front of a mosque in the city on the eve of the first day of Ramadan. Center President Ismail Golmez stated that the head was found on Sunday evening, March 10, around 7:40 PM, adding that "the police took pictures and collected the pig's head." He further remarked, "This is ridiculous... we do not disturb anyone."
The public prosecutor's office in Saint-Omer confirmed that a complaint had been received regarding the incident. The municipality of Saint-Omer also issued a statement expressing regret for the "unacceptable acts and vandalism that occurred in the early hours of Ramadan." They strongly condemned these actions and declared their full support for the Muslim community, emphasizing that freedom of all religions is one of the fundamental principles of democracy in France.
