The State Security Directorate reported that the Nabatieh regional directorate began monitoring (A.R.), who was smuggling medicine to and from Lebanon. Before his arrest, he left the area for an unknown location while continuing his activities in both smuggling and counterfeiting medicines. He was working with accomplices to package fake drugs in boxes labeled for chronic and expensive medications in Lebanon, selling them to citizens at exorbitant prices, which caused significant health issues for the patients who consumed them.
The statement indicated that State Security - Service and Information Division had been tracking him in Aley for some time as he attempted to market these drugs. Following a directive from the financial prosecutor, Judge Ali Ibrahim, he was arrested. Smuggled and counterfeit medicines, as well as a sum of counterfeit dollars, were found in his car. He has been referred along with the confiscated items to the relevant authorities for legal proceedings.
