The media center of the Egyptian Cabinet commented on reports claiming the spread of a new virus affecting poultry farms, leading to bird deaths. The media center stated in a statement that it communicated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, which denied these reports, affirming that there is no truth to the claims of a new virus causing poultry deaths. It confirmed that no variants or viruses have been detected among birds in farms.
The ministry emphasized the intensification of active investigation committees' campaigns in various governorates, focusing on poultry farms, markets, and migratory bird routes as a precautionary measure to identify any epidemic diseases affecting birds. There will also be comprehensive periodic examinations of birds, involving sampling for analysis at the Animal Health Research Laboratory to ensure their safety and freedom from diseases or epidemics. All necessary health measures will be taken in the case of any discovered epidemics or viruses. The ministry urged citizens not to be misled by such false claims and to source information from reliable sources.
