Iraq: Our Military Forces Are Strong and We Do Not Need the International Coalition

The Acting Speaker of Parliament, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, confirmed on Tuesday that Iraq possesses significant military strength and no longer requires the presence of international coalition forces. He emphasized the importance of exchanging experiences at the legislative level.

A statement issued by the media office of the Acting Speaker highlighted that Al-Mandalawi received the Romanian Ambassador to Iraq, Radu Octavian Dobri, to discuss several files and topics of mutual interest.

During the meeting, they explored ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries across all levels, particularly in economic, commercial, and political spheres, and invited Romanian companies to take advantage of the attractive investment environment and the facilitation provided by Iraq for reputable enterprises.

Al-Mandalawi affirmed that Iraq has considerable military strength and does not require international coalition forces, stressing that the actual need is for bilateral relationships based on mutual respect and common interests, while also underscoring the importance of enhancing parliamentary cooperation and exchanging experiences at the legislative level.
