Helicopter Disappearance Off the Coast of Norway

Norwegian rescue services announced that "a helicopter disappeared off the west coast of Norway today, Wednesday, after sending a distress signal, before several people were spotted in the nearby ocean." The Norwegian police confirmed that an incident had occurred, according to the news agency "NTB." The number of people on board the helicopter is not yet clear. The Norwegian Joint Rescue Coordination Centers stated in a post on (X) that rescuers began retrieving individuals from the sea. Air traffic data showed that several rescue helicopters were flying near an island west of Bergen, Norway's second-largest city and a busy center for the Norwegian oil and gas industry.
