Title: European Commissioner: Agreement with Lebanon on Migrants Possible

European Commissioner for Promoting the European Way of Life, Margaritis Schinas, revealed today, Friday, that the bloc can reach an agreement with Lebanon to stop the flow of migrants, amid complaints from Cyprus about the increasing numbers arriving from the Middle East. Schinas stated that an agreement with Lebanon could be similar to the one the European Union signed with Egypt on March 17, noting that there is a need for significant preparations. During a visit to Cyprus, he said, "We have worked with Egypt for a long time, but I believe it is entirely realistic to take a similar approach with Lebanon." The European Union has entered into agreements with several countries to help them manage the increasing burdens of migration and ultimately prevent its spread to the 27 member states of the bloc. Human rights groups have strongly criticized these agreements.
