Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed on Monday that the meeting he held with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on the sidelines of the G20 summit was positive, during which the issue of exchanging visits was raised. In remarks to reporters during the return trip from the G20 summit hosted by India, Erdogan stated that the two countries intend to revive the high-level strategic cooperation council. Egypt and Turkey elevated their diplomatic relations by exchanging the appointment of ambassadors in July after a decade of tensions.
