Resignation of Israeli Army Representative in Negotiation Team Due to Netanyahu

Hebrew Channel 13 reported that the Israeli army representative in the negotiation team, reservist Major General Nitzan Alon, has resigned from his position. The channel cited sources indicating that Alon resigned in response to Netanyahu’s insistence on preventing the expansion of the negotiating delegation's powers. In the first week of March, Israeli Channel 14 revealed a series of widespread resignations within the Israeli army amid the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip. The channel noted that several senior officials in the army's information system had also resigned. It reported that "Colonel Shlomit Miller Botbol, considered the second-in-command in the army's spokesperson department after Daniel Hagari, has also resigned, along with a significant number of officers responsible for the army's information division."

Additionally, the Israeli channel stated that "Moran Katz, head of the communications department in the army's spokesperson unit, will leave her job, along with the army spokesperson for foreign media, General Richard Hecht." The channel attributed these mass resignations to the officers’ protests regarding operational and personal management, explaining that the resignations "reflect a state of turmoil" in the information unit managed by Hagari. Recent Israeli reports indicate deep disagreements between the government and the Israeli army over the government's management of the war.
