The commander of the Rapid Support Forces in Sudan, General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (Hamidti), announced on Wednesday that he met with Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni in his first known foreign visit since the outbreak of war between the Rapid Support Forces and the Sudanese army in April. Dagalo stated on the platform "X" that they discussed developments in Sudan. Hamidti's whereabouts during the war have remained unknown. Museveni confirmed in a post on X that he welcomed Dagalo to his country home in Ruwaikitura. The Sudanese Foreign Ministry stated in a press release on Wednesday that Hamidti was unable to travel to Djibouti, which currently holds the presidency of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), for a scheduled preliminary meeting with the Sudanese army chief, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan. The statement added that the meeting, aimed at helping to reach an end to the war, will now be rescheduled for January due to "technical issues."
