A video recorded by surveillance cameras has circulated on social media, capturing a tragic incident of a family consisting of a father, mother, and two children in Indonesia committing suicide together. The footage shows the family going to the rooftop of a 21-story building, after which they all jumped from the top.
The police chief stated that an investigation is underway, treating the incident as a "mass suicide" since a rope was found binding their hands together at the moment of their fall. The event has shocked the Indonesian community, particularly because it involved two children among the four.
The four family members died instantly after jumping from the 21st floor in the area of Penjaringan, North Jakarta. Indonesian media outlets have revealed the identities of the deceased: the father, aged 50, the mother, aged 52, their 15-year-old daughter, and their 13-year-old son.
