Clash and Contract Termination between Musk and Renowned Journalist on WhatsApp

A heavyweight conflict erupted in recent hours on platform X between its controversial owner Elon Musk and former CNN anchor Don Lemon. This was triggered by an interview with Musk that was conducted by Lemon for his new show, which was supposed to be exclusively broadcast on X, indicating a "fight" between the two men, albeit indirectly, as it was limited to tweets and counter-tweets.

After the broadcaster announced on Wednesday that Musk abruptly terminated the contract they had previously signed just hours after filming what was supposed to be part of the show's first episode, he revealed that Musk had sent him a text message simply stating, “The contract is terminated.” The famous anchor questioned whether Musk's commitment to absolute freedom did not include answering questions about himself.

However, he confirmed at the same time that he would not hesitate to publish the interview with Musk on X and YouTube as well.

In response, Musk did not deny the cancellation of the show but tweeted criticizing the broadcaster’s style, considering that he had not deviated from CNN's approach, which he believes is nearly dying. He also remarked that Don did not appear as spontaneously as he should have but was merely echoing Jeff Zucker, referring to the CNN director. Nevertheless, he sarcastically stated that he has no objection to "Lemon/Zucker" publishing whatever they want on X.

For its part, the famous tweeting company confirmed that it welcomes the streaming of Lemon's video on Twitter, committing to freedom of expression and promoting all voices and opinions. Lemon then shared a tweet from “X Business,” seemingly hinting at the company's attempt to rehabilitate its reputation.
