Microsoft has agreed to pay $650 million for the licensing of Inflection AI's artificial intelligence software, in addition to moving this week to hire most of the startup's employees. Microsoft surprised the AI community by announcing the hiring of Inflection founders Mustafa Suleyman and Karen Simonyan, along with attracting most of the startup's 70 employees.
