The Executive Council of the Ogero Union confirmed in an emergency meeting regarding the delay in sending the allocated credits for the salaries and wages of the Ogero Authority that "the transfer will take place tomorrow to the Authority's accounts in the Central Bank of Lebanon." In a statement following the meeting, they requested "all colleagues to remain on standby to monitor developments as needed."
The council expressed disapproval of the "practices and procrastination by those responsible for securing the credits, disregarding the living necessities of the employees and causing a state of oppression and humiliation, especially amid this severe economic crisis, while they have not ceased carrying out their duties around the clock and throughout the week."
Among Ogero employees, there is a prevailing atmosphere of anger due to not receiving their dues so far, which is attributed to the Ministry of Finance's refusal to transfer salaries to the Authority's accounts in the Central Bank. There are plans to take escalatory measures, according to the National News Agency. It's worth noting that the employees received their last salaries before the Eid al-Adha holiday.
