The head of the Popular Mobilization Forces, Falih al-Fayyad, stated today, Sunday, that the American strikes on the Anbar operations headquarters of the Popular Mobilization "will not go unpunished." Al-Fayyad mentioned in a speech during the funeral of the Popular Mobilization victims who were killed in the American bombing in the Qaim and Akashat regions of Anbar, that "the American aggression was a direct targeting of the Popular Mobilization Forces," clarifying that "this incident will not go unpunished as it represents a blatant targeting." He continued, stating, "We will not accept that our children's blood be used as cheap political material," emphasizing the "necessity of cleansing Iraqi soil of foreign presence." The death toll from the strikes carried out by U.S. forces against Popular Mobilization positions in Anbar province today, Sunday, has risen to 17 fatalities, after a security source reported the death of the commander of the third battalion of the armored fighting directorate of the Popular Mobilization, succumbing to his injuries.
