Speaker of the House Nabih Berri has called the committees on Finance and Budget, Administration and Justice, Public Health, Labor and Social Affairs, Education, Higher Education and Culture, National Economy, Trade, Industry and Planning, Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Human Rights, Women and Children to a joint session at 10:30 AM on Monday, December 11, 2023. The agenda for the session includes the following items:
1. The draft law associated with Decree No. 12617, which seeks approval for entering into a loan agreement between the Republic of Lebanon and the World Bank for Reconstruction and Development to implement the Second Additional Financing Project for the Social Safety Net – Emergency Crisis Response in Lebanon and the COVID-19 Response, amounting to $300 million.
2. The proposed law aimed at providing a financial assistance of 650 billion Lebanese pounds to be allocated in the 2023 budget for the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, for the compensation fund for individuals in the teaching staff of private schools, in accordance with Article 41 of the law dated June 15, 1956 and its amendments.
3. The proposed law aimed at amending certain provisions related to the teaching staff in private schools and organizing the school budget.
