Israeli forces fired tear gas canisters at a media delegation that was touring the outskirts of the Shebaa Farms alongside member of the "Development and Liberation" bloc, MP Qassem Hashem, today, Saturday. In a statement from the southern border near Shebaa Farms, MP Qassem Hashem mentioned, "It is our right to reach any area in the Kfarshouba hills and Shebaa Farms, and what we are experiencing is natural, as this is the aggressive nature of the Israeli enemy."
The Lebanese Press Editors Syndicate strongly condemned the blatant assault on the media delegation coinciding with the presence of the elected Lebanese MP Qassem Hashem at the border line of Bastra Farms in southern Lebanon. The syndicate considers that the continued aggression by the Israeli enemy will not deter free voices from defending their land and expressing their commitment to condemning Israeli practices, which indicate the persistence of the occupation that the Lebanese people have managed to resist, even if not completely, and are prepared to confront it once again.
In its statement, the Editors Syndicate emphasized that the safety of journalists while performing their duties is paramount and urged international organizations and bodies to stand firmly against the repeated Israeli assaults on journalists, whether in occupied Palestine or other occupied Arab territories.
