The American telecom company AT&T announced that personal data for 73 million users has been leaked to the dark web. The operator stated in a press release: "AT&T has launched a comprehensive investigation with internal and external cybersecurity experts. Initial findings indicate that the dataset leaked to the dark web contains information dating back to 2019 or earlier. This has affected nearly 7.6 million current users and about 65.4 million former users of AT&T." The information, which includes customer names and social security numbers, has been on the dark web for about two weeks, and the source of the leak has not yet been identified.
