Containment of Fire at Gandhi Hospital in Tehran.. No Injuries

Official media in Iran announced today, Thursday, that the civil defense has managed to contain a massive fire at a hospital in the capital, Tehran. An official stated that the flames destroyed the building's exterior facade. According to reports, Tehran Fire Department spokesperson Jalal Maleki said that the fire did not result in any fatalities, adding that authorities are investigating the incident to determine the cause. Maleki stated, "So far, we have not received any reports of serious injuries. The fire mainly affected the exterior of the hospital building."

Videos and images showed a fire erupting at Gandhi Hospital, where fire trucks rushed to the scene. Jalal Maleki from the Tehran Fire Department stated, "Gandhi Hospital in Tehran experienced a massive fire moments ago, and firefighting forces were dispatched to the location."

The Gandhi Hospital complex covers more than 32,000 square meters distributed across 22 floors for diagnosis, treatment, and accommodation, as well as 11 floors for specialized clinics designed according to international standards for hotels and hospitals.

The hospital was established by a group of specialists in 2009 with the goal of being a leading center in medical and health tourism in Iran. The hospital contains 100 inpatient beds, 40 intensive care beds, 17 operating rooms, and 100 residential suites to accommodate patients, their companions, and families. In addition to the hospital, the Gandhi Health Tower offers complementary services such as restaurants, cafes, grocery shops, cosmetics and health products, handicrafts, electronic goods, phones, and internet, along with exclusive visitor parking, banking services, transport between suburbs and cities, and various sports and recreational facilities.
