Ukraine Announces Destruction of 41 Russian Missiles and Two Drones

The Ukrainian Air Force announced on Saturday that it "destroyed 41 cruise missiles during the latest air attack launched by Russia on Ukraine." It reported that "Russian forces fired a total of 51 missiles and two drones, which officials stated were destroyed during the attack last night." The Ukrainian army indicated that its forces made progress near Bakhmut and in a further southern area. Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar stated that "Ukrainian forces launched an attack near a group of villages surrounding Bakhmut, a city that was seized by the Russian Wagner mercenary group last month after months of fighting." Maliar added, "We have made progress in all these areas." Commander of Tavria, Oleksandr Tarnavskiy, stated that "Ukrainian forces liberated an area near Krasnohorivka in Donetsk." He added that the area had been under Russian control since it was seized by Moscow-backed separatist forces in 2014.
