On Monday, Russia announced that floods have swept through more than 10,000 homes in the Ural, Volga, and West Siberian regions, as emergency services continue to evacuate cities experiencing rising river levels. The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations stated on social media that "in the territories of Siberia and the Volga region, as well as in the central federal areas, an increase in air temperatures and active snow melting is expected, leading to the formation of rivers." They added that the waters have "submerged more than 10,400 residential homes."
