Sisi Warns of Continued Military Escalation in Gaza

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from his American counterpart Joe Biden today, Thursday. During the call, they discussed efforts to de-escalate tensions in the Gaza Strip, achieve a ceasefire, exchange detainees, and implement humanitarian aid, as well as ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries. President Sisi, during the call, warned about the dangers of continued military escalation and targeting of civilians, emphasizing the need to reach an immediate and sustainable ceasefire that allows adequate and appropriate access to humanitarian aid, which would lead to a genuine improvement in conditions in the region. Both sides affirmed the necessity of avoiding the expansion of the conflict in the region and agreed to maintain consultations and coordination to ensure the restoration of peace and security in the area.
