US and UK Impose Sanctions on Iran and the Houthis

The U.S. Treasury Department announced in a statement today, Tuesday, that it has "taken action targeting the deputy commander of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and a member of the Houthi group, as well as the owner and operator of a ship used to transport Iranian goods to support the group." A government memorandum revealed that the UK has added five new designations under its sanctions regime against Iran and one under its sanctions regime against Yemen.
