The Chinese Foreign Ministry announced on Friday that as China and France celebrate the 60th anniversary of establishing their diplomatic relations this year, French Foreign Minister Stéphane Séjourné will visit China on Monday. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian stated, "At the invitation of Wang Yi, a member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Foreign Minister of the country, French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs Stéphane Séjourné will visit China on April 1st." The French minister will meet with his Chinese counterpart at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing, where foreign officials are received. Furthermore, Séjourné will participate in the opening of the Versailles à la Cité Interdite exhibition at the Forbidden City in Beijing, showcasing approximately 60 artworks and valuable pieces from the Palace of Versailles. Lin Jian reminded that this year marks the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France, as well as the year of cultural tourism between the two countries. He noted that in recent years, under the joint leadership of the Presidents of the two countries, exchanges and cooperation in various fields continue to be strengthened.
