An incident occurred at the Doura roundabout in eastern Beirut between Syrians and local youths near Saint Maroun Church. According to reports, the situation is escalating towards the Rmeil-Achrafieh area, and things are getting out of control. Information has emerged about armed individuals in the area, leading to anger among residents and several injuries.
Details reveal that the altercation began at noon between a Lebanese citizen and the owner of a tailoring workshop, who sought help from his Syrian workers in the industrial area. The situation escalated, provoking local residents. As the Syrian workers fled into the tailoring workshop, the residents surrounded the building, demanding its evacuation. Security forces established a cordon around the building amid residents’ insistence on removing the Syrian workers, even though no Lebanese individual resides there.
There are also reports of tension in several areas due to this incident. MP Ghassan Atallah from the Free Patriotic Movement commented on the Doura incident through the "X" platform, warning of an impending explosion: "We have repeatedly warned about the dangers of random displacement and the explosion it may cause... What we are witnessing now in the Doura area could happen at any moment and in any region. We hold responsible those who have remained silent about this disaster and urge the army to act decisively to prevent getting caught in a fire that will not be extinguished!"
